testing the technique

I constructed a sleeve pattern to test this method. Firstly, I drew up the sleeve going off at a 45 degree angle halfway down the underarm seam, and followed the sleeve head to parallel with this line. An extra seam to attach the outer sleeve below the elbow is added. I cut this from
fabric to test the pattern.







































However, this sleeve pattern was not successful. The outer arm was too long, and the angle was below the elbow, so the arm wouldnt fit correctly into the sleeve. I re-drew the pattern, slashing up the topsleeve to the elbow point and pivoting the sleeve into the underarm to create the angle. After cutting this from fabric, this was more successful than the first attempt and the angle was in the correct position for the arm to fit comfortably and bend at the elbow.
